Comment from Chayo

"I'm glad I''m doing the WASTED challenge because if I didn't I'd be no better than people who always take plastic bags from shops. It is hard though, because there's not as much food in the house as usual (tho there is enough!!). The hardest moment was when we were shopping. It was really annoying 'cos everything was in plastic."

  1. Well done Chayo and Topsy! It sounds like a really great challenge to be doing. You've inspired me to try and cut down on non-recyclables too - it's so easy to forget what happens to it all once you've chucked it in the bin!

    Good luck.

  2. Congratulations, Topsy and Chayo. You are doing really well on your challenge! The crisps look delicious. Apple and smarties sound rather yummy, too. And, yes, sometimes these challenges come up with surprising findings - well done Nestles indeed!

Interesting conundrum about biodegradable plastic. I use the plastic bags that go inside the council food caddies to line my kitchen compost container and then put them into my garden compost bin - bit of an experiment! Anyway, the bags seem to be rotting down and the bin is full of happy looking worms, so we will see.

You're half way through now nearly and you have done brilliantly. Hurrah! I look forward to reading about the rest of the month.
